Hard Probes 2024

September 28, 2024

This week researchers from all around the world, including my group, gathered in Nagasaki, Japan for the Hard Probes 2024 conference to discuss the most recent results in heavy ion physics. The UIC group, pictured below, had a very strong showing, where we gave 5 talks and showed four new results! From CMS, we showed two new studies focusing on nuclear PDFs and searching for jet quenching using dijets produced in proton-lead collisions, as well as a new result examining how different jet clustering algorithms change the axis of a jet in PbPb collisions.

More information on these new results can be found here for the studies of jet axes, here for the nPDF studies, and here for the searches for jet quenching in small systems.
